Ma & Pa Kettle At The Fair

Once again, it’s time for the Historic Artcraft Theatre’s annual Ma & Pa Kettle film screening! This year it’s Ma & Pa Kettle At The Fair (1952), running June 27-28.

Actress Marjorie Main, best known for her recurring role as Ma Kettle, was born right here in Acton. She appeared in more than 80 roles throughout her career, often opposite big-name stars such as Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne and Judy Garland.

The Artcraft Theatre, built in 1922 in Franklin, Indiana, was originally a Vaudeville theatre and silent movie house, and is now in care of the non-profit organization Franklin Heritage, Inc.  All proceeds from the classic films they show each month go toward the restoration of the building.
