Levi Coffin House
Join the FTHS July 23 for a short road trip to the Levi Coffin house in Fountain City, Indiana. Called “the Grand Central Station of the Underground Railroad,” this 1839 home sheltered over 2,000 escaping slaves in its secret rooms. A stop for lunch in the area will be part of the day’s events.
Those would like to join us on this outing can gather at the Meeting House (6510 S. Franklin Rd.) at 10 a.m. on July 23 to carpool or follow the group.
