Annual Rummage Sale – Saturday, June 9

Are thoughts of spring cleaning awakening in your head? Wouldn’t it be nice not only to get rid of that clutter, but also to be able to take a tax deduction for those items you no longer need?

Well, it’s possible! The Franklin Township Historical Society will again be holding its annual rummage sale, and since the Society is a 501(c)(3) organization, it can issue tax receipts for things donated.

The sale itself will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday June 9th at the Franklin Township Civic League building, 8822 Southeastern Ave. Item drop-off and sale set-up will be at that same location on Friday June 8th from 12 to 6. Please note that NO clothing will be accepted (with the exception of particular items of antique or vintage value).

All proceeds from the sale will help this non-profit organization continue to offer its programs and maintain its 1871 Meeting House and Museum, the former Big Run Baptist Church, located at 6510 S. Franklin Road. The building is open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first Saturday and third Sunday of each month, March through October. Admission is free, though donations are gratefully accepted.
